An agentic society is a collection of AI agents that coordinate autonomously across trust boundaries, on behalf of different principals whose objectives may only partially align. We show experimentally that in agentic societies even honest, competent agents often fail to reach satisfactory outcomes with existing harnesses and messaging primitives, and that faulty or malicious agents can stall collaboration, influence outcomes, and pursue other harmful goals by exploiting vulnerabilities in commu

Kernel-level anti-cheats are effective against malicious player behavior in competitive video games, but raise significant user privacy concerns regarding installing unverifiable components at privileged modes (i.e., ring-0 in x86). While existing research has focused on improving the effectiveness of anti-cheats, the user privacy concern has been largely ignored. Tirith is an anti-cheat architecture that addresses this problem using two key ideas. First, instead of running video games within re

Interactive control for video generation is moving from coarse prompts toward fine-grained, physically meaningful manipulation of dynamic scenes. Yet existing controllable methods either require the full control schedule before generation starts, or use pixel-space signals that dictate object positions rather than physical dynamics. To address these limitations, we propose PhysStream, an autoregressive model for physics-grounded image-to-video synthesis that incorporates structured scene memory-

Neural audio codecs are a key component in speech language modeling. However, their high frame rates lead to long sequence lengths, increasing computational costs. Dynamic frame rate codecs mitigate this by reducing the effective frame rate using a compression step to merge multiple frames together. However, most prior methods either operate on single-codebook codecs or apply a single compression step before multi-layer quantization. This forces all quantization layers to share the same segmenta

Modern large-scale machine learning tasks often require multiple workers, devices, CPUs, or GPUs to compute stochastic gradients in parallel and asynchronously to train model weights. In June 2026, thousands of AI agents found that a small public wiki would accept edits from inside their sandboxes, and started using it to help one another pass a timed test. Each agent lived for about an hour and remembered nothing afterwards. Nobody asked them to cooperate, and the wiki had not been built for them. The complete record of what they wrote is public, and it is unusually informative, because it preserves not only what each agent wrote but what that agent could see before writing.

Agent harnesses (the system prompt, tool set, execution hooks, and context-management scaffolding around a model) are a critical determinant of agentic task success. Automated harness evolution can enable smaller models to perform well on domain-specific tasks at a fraction of frontier-model cost. Generative models have become central across science and industry, from image and text synthesis to the design of molecules and materials. Quantum generative models are considered one of the most promising applications for quantum computers, since a quantum circuit naturally produces samples from the distribution it encodes, and for suitable circuits that distribution is believed to be hard for any classical computer to reproduce. A leading strategy trains these models on a classical computer an

Many important forms of human learning begin with a vague goal, such as "become a better physicist" or "improve at research." Learners must interpret the goal, identify capability gaps, decide how to learn, and determine whether they have actually improved. In contrast, existing work on LLM self-evolution typically begins with tasks and evaluation metrics specified by humans, reducing self-evolution to optimizing an explicit objective rather than deciding what and how to learn. Users of a deployed language model routinely encounter behaviours that testing almost never surfaces, since deployment puts the model through orders of magnitude more interactions than any evaluation can simulate. When a large language model fails a reasoning task, it is often assumed to lack the underlying capability. However, this conflates a genuine absence of reasoning with a late-stage output bottleneck. Diversity is a fundamental criterion for evaluating generative artificial intelligence (AI) systems, yet its measurement remains inherently ambiguous. Existing approaches typically represent generated samples in an embedding space, compute pairwise distances or similarities, and aggregate them into a single scalar score. High-capacity encoders in retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) can let the query dominate the latent state, leaving retrieved evidence functionally irrelevant. We call this failure mode query dominance. Multi-agent reasoning systems often use agreement, confidence, or automated scores to decide which messages should shape a final answer. Such filtering assumes that a message likely to be correct is also worth keeping. Yet a wrong answer can contain a useful decomposition, constraint, or scientific principle. Much existing research on coding agents organizes application development as an iterative loop of requirement interpretation, implementation, tool execution, evaluation, and repair. As these loops run longer, requirements may drift; users may lose awareness of the current state and rationale for changes; and generated applications may remain insufficiently grounded in target users' contexts and needs. Application engineering therefore requires a mechanism connecting owner intent, target-user exp

The pursuit of artificial general intelligence (AGI) rests on a seemingly self-evident premise: that general intelligence, the kind of flexible, domain-general cognitive capacity exemplified by Homo sapiens, is extraordinarily valuable.
